He may be just past his teenage years but there is no doubt Manchester City’s 20-year-old Swedish striker John Guidetti is tipped as a future star by his club. Having just signed a new four-year contract in the last 24 hours, as announced by Goal.com, it is certain that the Eastlands’ side is agreed that he is destined to make a name for himself in sky blue.
Guidetti spent last season on loan with Dutch Eredivisie side Feyenoord Rotterdam scoring 20 goals in 23 appearances for the Holland Giants. His performance on-loan is for certain one of the biggest reasons why the Eastlands’ club has been so keen to keep him onboard.
Although he is yet to truly have a run with the first team he is expected to begin making cameo appearances in the coming seasons. However, the true issue that could see him forced out in the following years is the existence of both Sergio Aguero and Mario Balotelli in the first team.

Both current senior players at the club are not too far advanced from Guidetti’s age, and they could see him eventually take his leave if offered the chance much in the way young Daniel Sturridge did a few seasons ago when he left for Chelsea.
