According to TalkSport, North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are believed to both be tracking the status of La Liga club Seville and their star players Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo. The two Spanish internationals are thought to be reluctant potential sales for the club due to their desire to raise capital to cover debts on the clubâs books in preparation for financial fair play.
Negredo was believed to be headed out of the door this summer but failed to make a move and is likely to be up for grabs for around £20 million. Navas likewise was thought to be on the move this summer as Arsenal was believed to be a highly interested party.
However, the Gunners made a move for fellow Spanish international Santi Cazorla from Malaga. Navas is now thought to be more of a target for Tottenham while Arsenal are thought interested in the signing of Negredo to add additional support to Olivier Giroud.
The French international is beginning to come good for his new squad but there is nothing wrong with a little friendly competition in the eyes of Arsene Wenger. With a potential second straight spending window for Arsenal as they push for a return to the top of the English Premier League this season it could become interesting in the coming months.
