Tottenham and Chelsea are set for a battle at White Hart Lane in front of a sold out crowd in the coming hours. Not only is it a test of the credentials of either club for a top four finish, it is also a showdown of philosophies between Andre Villas-Boas and Roberto Di Matteo.
On one side of the halfway line it will be a former manager scorned by the lack of faith from ownership and failure to be able to keep the respect of veteran Blues players such as Frank Lampard and now departed Didier Drogba.
The opposite side will see Chelseaâs new leader in Roberto Di Matteo that managed to lead the club to European glory in one of the most unprecedented runs that the club has ever seen.
Andre Villas-Boas will be keen to get one over on his former employers, while Matteo will be wanting to make sure his club stays at the top of the league and his position remains unshakably his own with another victory.
In addition to Matteo wanting to prove himself, Fernando Torres will also have a bone to pick against Andre Villas-Boas after his former manager failed to show him much faith in the first team last season. Torres has four goals in seven English Premier League games so far this season and he is out to show that he is back to his top form. SWOL looked more in depth at the Spanish hit-man in additional prematch coverage here.
Tactically it looks likely to be a Portuguese 4-2-3-1 on the side of AVB and an Italian 4-2-3-1 on the side of Di Matteo. As we build up to the match here are the latest predicted lineups about four hours from kickoff at White Hart Lane.
