After Yael Averbuch revealed songs the top women in the world of football listen to on the regular, SWOL decided to bring that investigative curiosity to the menâs side. Our adventures brought us to Philadelphia and specifically inside the Philly Unionâs locker room at their very impressive stadium: PPL Park.
Below we take a look at some of the current favorites of the boys that represent Philly. If youâve ever wondered what your favorite player was listening to as he got off the bus in preparation for a big match, then wonder no more. Is that Justin Beiber blaring through his headphones? Perhaps. Maybe its the catchy flow of Meek Mill or even the legendary chords of Carlos Santana. Take a look at the songs and our brief player bios. Match âem up and see how you did at the bottom. Weâve included a link to Spotify so you can give the songs a listen as well.

Freddy Adu: (Midfielder) All you have to do is watch his first goal celebration in the Sept. 23 match against the Houston Dynamo to figure out this talented playmakerâs favorite song. Freddyâs all rap all day.
Zac MacMath: (Goalkeeper) This up and coming, young goalkeeper likes to his local artists, but when it comes to thisâ"heâs all about getting a different perspective.
Roger Torres: (Midfielder) One of the original fan favorites of the team, Roger went with a club banger of a song with his pick.
Chase Harrison: (Goalkeeper) Always one to bring the energy to the locker room, âChaserâ went with a Rock Band classic.
Josue Martinez: (Winger/Striker) âEl Senorâ blasts shows of his appreciation for his mom with this reggae song everday.
Porfirio Diaz: (Defender) âPorfiâ is one of the characters of the locker room but when it comes to this artistâs Spanish guitar heâs all business.
Amobi Okugo: (Midfielder/Defender) Sometimes calling himself âThe Nigerian Nightmare,â Amobi is all about Young Money records, âNo Lieâ man.
Michael Farfan: (Midfielder) Michael keeps things pretty simple with his music. You can say itâs part of his âMottoâ.
Jack McInerney: (Striker) A man of few words, âMcâ chose a song that has a lot to say about his Georgia roots.
Chandler Hoffman: (Striker) Probably one of the most peaceful dudes on the team, it should be easy to guess which song âChandalaâ mellows out to.
Ray Gaddis: (USA) Quite the self-proclaimed dancer, any fan of Brazilian music will be able to see why âRay Rayâ sambas to this song.
Cristian Hernandez: (Midfielder) Donât let his smooth passing and silky feet fool you, âCristinaâ will âBurnâ You if you donât watch out.
Keon Daniel: (Midfielder) In pure island fashion, âKeeâ brought some upbeat reggae dancehall to the list.
Jimmy McLaughlin: (Midfielder) âGlockâ is one of the hometown kids of the future, but this Philly native likes some west coast âCoffeeâ with his music.
Sheannon Williams: (Defender) A young dude with an old soul, Sheannon is a big fan of this 90âs throwback song.
Gabe Farfan: (Defender) One of the California guys on our team, âGâ feels pretty âluminatedâ with this song.
Chris Albright: (Defender) âAlbridgeâ has done it all in his long career, but surprised a few people with this heartfelt tune from a young, east coast music group
Bakary Soumare: (Defender) âBakâ might be an intimidating presence in person, but when it comes to music, he shows his sensitive side with this song.
Greg Jordon: (Midfield/Defender) Greg âYoung Geezieâ Jordon only his âTimeâ on his mind with this current alternative rock hit.
Krystian Witkowski: (Midfielder) Polish by heritage but not with music, âWikiâ shows off his inner rap soul.
Brian Carroll: (Midfielder) What you see is what you get with âBC.â When it comes to music, heâll tell you heâs all about this Los Angeles nativeâs music with no relation to Roger Torres.
Danny Cruz: (Midfielder) Danny is a fighter on the field but he like to give thanks to his âMommaâ with this R&B classic.
Chris Konopka: (Goalkeeper) Being the pride of the Jersey Shore burden, but for âPredâ saying goodbye is never easy.
Antoine Hoppenot: (Striker) With more energy than a Duracell battery, Antoine and young girls across the world are listening to this artistâs songs.
Zach Pfeffer: (Midfielder) Humble as can be, âPfeffâ likes to connect with his Latin hip hop roots with this song.
Gabriel Gomez: (Midfielder) You might remember this smooth R&B song back in 2005 with its English and Spanish version. âGaviâ certainly does.
Carlos Valdes: (Defender) To youâ"heâs el Capitan but to the rest of us heâs âCarliche.â âEl Modeloâ totally caught me off guard when I found him listening to this song. I think I might know this artist pretty well.
