Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas still holds the hope of signing Shakhtar Donetsk Brazilian star Willian in the coming transfer period. According to the Daily Mirror and quotes from the player on Oct. 21st, 2012 it appears that the North London manager is closest in the eyes of the player to making a move for him this January.
William was quoted as being disappointed to not have been allowed to leave the Ukrainian side this summer with offers from two clubs being rejected:
There were two offers in the summer. One from Chelsea and one from Tottenham. The true goal for the player is to work his way back to the Brazilian National team through more exposure on a bigger domestic stage in Europe and a move to either Chelsea or Tottenham would be likely to help facilitate that dream as well as add to his bottom line.
Choosing between the two clubs would be difficult.
Tottenham is a big club and it has a good person in charge â" Andre Villas-Boas wanted to bring me to Chelsea and also tried at Tottenham.
He always sends me messages. We are always in touch, and he has become a friend, for sure.
And Chelsea is Chelsea. They are a great team, with amazing players and are the champions of Europe.
